For an image to be succesful it has to have some sort of order within it. An image is built up usuing elements like; shape, patteren, colour, line, form, texture etc. In every image that we come across contains one or more of these elements whether it was intentionally used or not. Elements like texture, line and colour are recognized unconsciously and also have the biggest impact on an image. Believe it or not, out of the elements line is the strongest and most influential element that can be used in an image because without lines we can'y create shapes and without shapes we have no form, and no form means no texture therefor we end up having no pattern. Another fundamental element is shape, shape is what helps us identify different things. As everthing is a shape it's key to be careful that we identify what is essential within the image , this is generally indicated when the object is either frontlit or backlit. Form is a three-dimensional shape, form is best shown by being accentuated by a side light so that a soft shadow can be casted and help to show a better illustration of the objects depth.Texture and patteren work well together, all textures form a pattern with in it. Texture is good for creating the mood and emotions, to capture texture in it's best form all comes down to the right lighting. It's also key to know that have texture in the background helps to create an emotion-filled background. The pattern that is formed can either be built up or broke down, when you emphasises a pattern you are accentuating the zie and compasion. Finally, we come to colour... Colour is what gives the image character, if the image is in black and white it can give the image a low tone and create a sad atmosphere but if the image is bright and colour it gices of the sense of happyness. The more vibrant a colour the more energy that is given off which makes it become more interesting. All these elements used together are what helps people to connect to the image. Everyone is individual and will react differently to different images.
