So Erik Johansson is one of the first photographers I found while doing research on surrealism and I absolutly love his style of work. Down below is the video of how he created this image above and to get this type of style a lot of photoshop has been put in place. What caught my attention with his work is how unusual it is and how there is a certain cartoon element due to the look of the colour's he uses. I find that when I look at one of his images at first they seem to be very abstracted and over editted but in-fact everything in the image is actually an image that he has captured and then he's just used his photoshop skills to create such beautiful pieces of work. Also, his work hasn't gone un noticed as he's had a wave of interests from different blogs and magazines after he uploaded his work to his website. Erik Johansson even says that he useses an intense level of photoshop on his images and describes his work as "somehow different from other kinds of art". I personally would describe his work as being humours and playful, yet some of the images i've come across have been quite polical and hard hitting and that is important to me because it shows a real passion for what he does and a passion for what is around him and how he interprets the world around us.
