Every monday morning we have contextual studies for at least an hour, we look at different photographers and artists and look further in to their background and see how their work can be an inspirartion/guide to us in our own work. This week on Monday we looked at a variety of artists, from sam fusso who was know for his self portraites in different outfits creating a different personality in each of them to Benjamin Zephaniah who's a very well know poet from Birmingham who finished full time education at the age of 13 and has been strongly influenced by jamaican music and poetry. We also looked at the work by Phyllis Galembo a new york fine arts photographer who explored culter through travelling to other countries and captured people in traditional or ritualist dress. Brandon stanton was also shown in the power point as he is best know for his photojournalistic work, his most popular piece is Humans of New York where he took pictures of people off the street and at the bottom of the image was the conversation that was had at the time of taking the image.
