Using and interpreting statistical information - gender pay gap 2013

The reason I choose to have a look at gender age gap is because I find it hard to believe that even in 2013 the equality between men and women are so different. I was nieve enough to believe that men and women were treated equality in everything. The one thing that isnt clear with this graph is if his is about the same jobs or different jobs as that could change the percentages to increase or decrease.

This graph shows 24 different countries and the gap between a womens pay and a mans pay going up through the ages. Over the year the pay is never equal, men always seem to earn a higher percentage in all countries.

I'd like to explore this further in my project and reasearch more in to why the pay is unequal and why a mans worth more then a women who is working. i think this will be a good starting point to get my self stuck in to the project 'The Others'.
