Today we had a look at various women photographers/artists, we explored how their work had an impact on the society around them. Sarah Lucas, stood out for me the most as her intentions were to confront sexual stereotyping. A lot of her images were straight to the point and showed visual puns as well as humour. She was part of the generation of Young British Artists who were around in the 1990's.
Questioning and highlighting different sterotypes, Sarah Lucas is describes as being as humourous as she is critical. I thin she stood out for me because of the fact she is so different, some of her images were quite uncomfortable to looked at at first sighting but when you understand the message behind her work, it becomes clear very quick on why she has done what she's done.
