So today we went over to plymouth central library to capture the essence of the library before it goes throws a massive refurbishment.

This image here was taken down in the basement where many of the older and more delicate books where kept. To get down in to the basement we had to have someone who worked in the library to take us down there as there was a code on the door.

What I like about this image is the use of depth of field. The use of lines to direct the viewers through the small gap between the books at the time wasn't suppose to be focusing on the books in the backround but after putting this image in to photoshop, I think this looks a lot better rather than having it focus on the books at the side of the images.

In this image I wanted the message as such to come across as 'discovering' purely because when you go in to a library there are so many things you can discover whether it's from reading a boook, looking through these little 'knowledge' notes or ghoing on to the computers and finding stuff out for yourself. I added my own filter from instragram on to this image and it made the books look more vibrant and old. I really like the set up in this images of the books, colours are spread out and the books remind me of what you see in disney movies.
