The history of band photography.

In a lecture we were given in college, we looked at the history of band photography and sererval photographers that specalised in it.

we looked at photographers such as:

Herman leanard- A American photographer who started his career in 1957. He did a fair vew album covers and mainly took photogrpahers in jazz clubs. Because he didnt do studio work and worked in the clubs taking pictures there was always smoke and back lighting in his images which made his style unique.

Jim Marshall- A american photograpgher who focused most his work around rock music and shot over 500 cover albums.He orignally starting documenting musicians and artistes in San Fancisco. Jim Marshall developed trust and special bonds with the people he worked with making him very popular in this area of work.

Annie Leibovitz- A american photographer who orignally started out as a portrait photographer. In 1970 she started working for Rolling Stone magazine as a photographer, 3 years later she was promoted to chief photographer. Annie Leibovitz also travelled across america and made a project called 'american mosie'.

Anton Corbijn- A German photographer who began taking photos at live gigs in 1972 and then in 1979 moved to london to attend photography NHE.
